Developers bought land Thursday for development of the WaterWalk Hotel in the Perimeter Park area.
WW Jacksonville Perimeter Park LLC of Wichita, Kansas, paid $2.9 million for property at 8833 Perimeter Park Blvd.
It bought the land from Beaver Dam Development LLC of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Intrust Bank of Wichita made a $1.885 million mortgage to WW Jacksonville.
The site is at northwest Southside and Butler boulevards. WaterWalk develops extended-stay hotels and corporate lodging.
The city is reviewing construction permit applications for WaterWalk, comprising two proposed four-story corporate hotel buildings on almost 6.3 acres. Construction costs total $13 million for the 153-unit all-suites project.
The St. Johns River Water Management District issued a permit Aug. 30 to landowner and applicant WaterWalk RE Development Services LLC of Wichita and Beaver Dam Development LLC of Raleigh.
Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. is the civil engineer.
Building 1 is a 75-unit, 62,271-square-foot structure at a cost of $6.55 million and Building 2 is a 78-unit, 62,122-square-foot hotel at almost $6.39 million. A $65,000 ancillary building also is planned.
The city enacted Ordinance 2019-165-E in May for Beaver Dam Development LLC to rezone 10.67 acres from industrial business park to planned unit development for the WaterWalk.
