The Suddath Companies announced Monday it acquired office furniture retailer Perdue Inc.
Suddath’s existing office furniture dealership will be consolidated into the Perdue brand and operate from Perdue’s Jacksonville and Tallahassee locations.
“Clients can expect to experience the best of both companies,” said Mark Scullion, president of Suddath Workplace and Commercial Services, in a news release. “Customers now have more options for bundling furniture and services for greater cost savings, convenience and efficiency.”
The deal is between two Jacksonville-based companies that are more than a century old.
Perdue, founded in 1916, is the region's dealer for Steelcase products.
“As we wrap up one of our best years ever, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to become part of the Suddath organization,” said Vince McCormack, president of Perdue Inc. “It’s the perfect time for Perdue to reach beyond our current potential and continue to grow in North Florida.”
The Suddath Companies, founded in 1919, specializes in worldwide corporate employee relocations, household moving, warehouse and logistics management and specialized transportation services, according to the firm’s website.
