VyStar Credit Union wants to demolish two single-story buildings and a former gas station at 2890 University Blvd W. for construction of a branch office.
Dana B. Kenyon Co. is the contractor for the demolition at a cost of $96,977.
In January, VyStar bought the 2-acre site, near St. Augustine Road, for $1.7 million from an affiliate of Ash Properties.
A VyStar spokeswoman said previously the site is designed to accommodate a 4,000-square-foot branch with three drive-thru lanes.
Construction could start by year-end and be completed in 2020, Judy Walz, chief marketing and planning officer, said Tuesday.
Jacksonville-based VyStar is active in the real estate market.
It bought two Downtown buildings – the 23-story SunTrust Tower, to be renamed VyStar Tower, at 76 S. Laura St. and the six-story Life of the South Building next door at 100 W. Bay St.
The two will comprise VyStar’s Downtown headquarters campus.
