The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill will open its first Northeast Florida restaurant March 28 in St. Johns County.
The fast-casual franchise is at 60 Shoppes Blvd., Suite 50, in the Shoppes of St. Johns Parkway. The center is off County Road 210 West. It was previously anchored by the closed Earth Fare.
The menu features gyros as well as lamb, steak and chicken souvlaki platters.
There are salads and housemade dips featuring hummus, tzatziki, melitzanosalata (eggplant) and tirokafteri (spicy roasted red pepper) as well as feta fries.
Desserts include baklava ice cream and rice pudding.
At the Orlando location, a chicken pita is $9.95. A steak souvlaki platter with salad and a choice of fries or rice pilaf is $15.95.
The St. Johns franchise owner is Dharti Patel, the company said in a March 24 news release.
“We are so thrilled to bring The Great Greek’s Mediterranean favorites to St. Johns,” Patel said.
“It’s been a dream of mine to open a restaurant in this area and with full support of my family, we are making it a reality.”
Hours are 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the company said March 29.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill says it was founded in 2011 in Henderson, Nevada.
The company website shows 20 open locations and one food truck. It says18 locations are coming soon.
The Florida locations are in Palm Beach Gardens, Port St. Lucie, Orlando, Winter Garden and West Palm Beach. Coming soon are two in Orlando.
