Best Buy in Regency is closed permanently, according to the store’s phone recording and a sign posted on the door.
The store at 9355 Atlantic Blvd. near Regency Square Mall is the only store in Jacksonville to close, but joins others in Illinois, Virginia, New York and Massachusetts, Business Insider reported.
The sign on the door at the store reads “This location is closed… permanently. We do not know why. We do not know who is moving in.”
Fixtures are for sale in the store, according to the sign.
Best Buy operates four other Jacksonville stores at 4906 Town Center Parkway, 9930 Southside Blvd., 13141 City Station Drive and 8151 Blanding Blvd.
The chain announced in February it would replace 5,000 full-time employees with 2,000 part-time employees, due to an increase in online shopping, USA Today reported.
Business Insider reported Best Buy closed 12 stores on Oct. 31.
