Quiet 3PF, the renamed Quiet Logistics, said Sept. 21 it intends to open a Northwest Jacksonville fulfillment center in October and hire up to 300 full-time employees this year.
The company said the Park 295 industrial center, at southwest Interstate 295 and Duval Road, will handle inbound inventory processing and storage, outbound direct-to-customer and business-to-business order processing, including value-added services and returns management.
It said it could not comment on which clients’ products are handled at its facilities because of security and confidentiality reasons.
“Jacksonville is a critical component of our national network with strong access to the Southeast through next day ground delivery from Atlanta to Miami, furthering our strategy to reach 45% of our end customers via same-day ground and 75% by next-day ground,” said President and COO Brian Lemerise in an emailed statement.
The city is reviewing a permit application for Quiet 3PF to make tenant improvements at 2619 Ignition Drive in Park 295 for a fulfillment center.
Quiet 3PF, which operates warehouse and logistics centers for other companies, previously posted job openings for a fulfillment center general manager and operations managers. One posting described it as “a productive (and happy) team of people and robots, working together to get things where they need to be.”
The company said Sept. 21 it would hire 275-300 full-time employees this year.
Quiet 3PF will improve 174,157 square feet of space in the 552,634-square-foot Building B. Ulta Beauty Inc. is leasing 203,463 square feet in the structure.
Jacksonville-based Tenant Contractors Inc. is shown as the contractor for the estimated $500,000 build-out.
Tenant improvements include the addition to existing office space and a full-length demising wall, which appears to be the separation of the remaining space.
Typically, permits are filed separately for conveyor systems.
Codes-ABC Inc. is working with the project’s code compliance.
Quiet 3PF said it worked with JLL Executive Vice President Luke Pope in the lease deal.
NorthPoint Development, based in Kansas City, Missouri, is the Park 295 developer. Newmark Phoenix Realty Group of Jacksonville is the landlord’s representative.
Quiet 3PF is a third-party logistics company founded in 2009 in Devens, Massachusetts. Greenfield Partners LLC invested in the company in 2018. It changed its name last year to Quiet 3PF to better reflect its offerings.
Industry trade site Supplychain247.com describes Quiet 3PF as an e-commerce fulfillment provider for leading brands and e-retailers.
The company provides warehouse management and material handling automation technologies.
In addition to traditional third-party fulfillment, Quiet 3PF offers managed services, an “in-sourced” approach to e-commerce operations that uses its technology, processes and management in client-owned distribution centers.
Quiet 3PF said it has seven facilities comprising three outside Boston and one each in St. Louis, Chicago, Los Angeles and now Jacksonville. Another is under construction in Dallas.
