“I sold mainframe computers during my first 12 years out of college. The 1990’s was bad time for computers and I had some friends in the lending business that were doing well so I decided to give it a try.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LENDING?

“Helping people buy homes.”

BEFORE CURRENT COMPANY?

He was with First Union for three years as a branch manager.

WHERE IS YOUR COMPANY LOCATED?

WHERE IS YOUR PARENT COMPANY LOCATED?

Dallas.

WHAT IS MONTHLY LOAN PRODUCTION THAT YOUR COMPANY DOES IN JACKSONVILLE?

About $10 million a month.

HOW MANY ARE ON YOUR STAFF?

Twenty people including seven loan officers, four processors, two closing coordinators, two operations managers, a personal assistant, receptionist and an accounting person.

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

Two builders have their mortgage companies under CTX’s umbrella: American Landmark Mortgage is mortgage company for Atlantic Builders and Darden Financial Services is the company that Providence Homes and CTX Mortgage jointly own.

NAMES OF LOAN OFFICERS HERE?

Carol Hendricks, Candy Edson, Margie Armento, Kathy Timmons and Betsy O’Daniel work for CTX. Debra Hanson works for American Landmark Mortgage and Deena Ayrey works for Darden Financial Services.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE LENDING OF CTX MORTGAGE?

“We do a lot of first-time home buyers, which means we do a fair amount of government loans. We do a variety of different types of loans.”

HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR COMPANY?

“Mainly though real estate agents, builders, participation in the various associations and by advertising.”

New Orleans.

MOVED TO JACKSONVILLE?

In 1962 when he was three years old.

COLLEGE

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rollins College.

FAMILY

He has been married to Marianne, a homemaker, for 16 years. They have two children: Alex, 10 and Britton, 8.

HOBBIES

He enjoys riding bikes on and off road, various types of exercise, swimming and spending time with his family.

RESIDES

Ponte Vedra Beach.

FAVORITES

His favorite movie is “Fast Times of Ridgemont High” and his favorite book is a biography, “John Adams” by David McCullough. Holmes sites Taco Bell as his favorite restaurant and CNBC as his favorite television station. His favorite place to visit is Australia because he spent time there as a foreign exchange student.
