Mayor Alvin Brown appointed three executives to the Jacksonville International Business Coalition, an effort between the City, the Jacksonville Port Authority, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, JAX Chamber and other organizations.

Brown appointed Dennis Kelly, regional vice president and general manager for TraPac Inc.; Derrick Smith, vice president of emerging markets for CSX Corp.; and former Ambassador Nancy Soderberg, president and CEO of Soderberg Global Solutions.

The group’s mission is to develop and recommend a common economic strategy or policy in the Jacksonville region relating to international efforts.

The coalition is governed by a 15-person board led by the mayor. The nine permanent members of the board include Brown; City Council President Stephen Joost; JAA CEO Steve Grossman; First Coast Manufacturers Association President Lake Ray; JPA CEO Paul Anderson; Jacksonville Economic Development Commission member Craig Gibbs; JAX Chamber Chair Hugh Greene; JAXUSA Partnership President Jerry Mallot; and the not-yet-named City economic development officer.
