Michael Gropper, a trial lawyer in the Jacksonville office of Holland & Knight, joined the board of directors of the Florida Theatre.
Gropper received his J.D. from the Amerian University Washington College of Law, where he graduated first in his class. He also has a bachelor’s in communications from the University of North Florida and clerked for U.S. District Judge Brian Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
The Florida Theatre is No. 21 on the list of most-attended theaters with up to 2,000 seats in the U.S., according to the concert industry trade magazine Pollstar.
The historic venue is managed by the nonprofit Florida Theatre Performing Arts Center Inc.
The organization is governed by a board of directors drawn from the civic leadership of the community who volunteer their time to oversee the policies, governance and finances of the institution. With the addition of Gropper, there are 30 board members.
