Borland Groover is on its way to opening its third Northeast Florida surgery center.

The gastroenterology provider broke ground Oct. 26 on a $10 million medical facility in St. Johns County.

The center will offer outpatient surgery and minimally invasive procedures, such as colonoscopies.

The two-story, 26,000-square-foot building will be at Florida 207 and Dobbs Road Cutoff near St. Augustine.

The two-story, 26,000-square-foot building will include a 13,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center on the first floor and 30 medical exam rooms on the second floor.

St. Johns County issued a building permit Oct. 23 for the facility with an address of 40 Groover Loop in St. Augustine.

The center is owned and operated by Borland Groover gastrointestinal specialists and United Surgical Partners International.

“We hear all the time from our patients that the combination of in-office expertise and advanced outpatient surgery center offerings are convenient, cost effective and offer a more personalized approach to care,” Dr. Kyle Etzkorn, CEO of Borland Groover, said in a news release.

Sauer Inc. is the contractor on the project. PQH Group is the architect.
