Jacksonville-based Web.com’s move to the Town Center Two building opened up its previous suburban space in Flagler Center for consolidation of one of Jacksonville’s large employers.
Ally Financial Inc., with 862 employees in Jacksonville, will move 234 of them into the former Web.com space by February. Interior work is being done in preparation.
Detroit-based Ally’s Jacksonville employees service the company’s auto finance customers.
Spokeswoman Andrea Puchalsky said the 234 employees will move into Web.com’s vacated 112,306 square feet of rentable space.
There are no new jobs, she said.
“Essentially we are moving into the space to bring all our employees together,” she said.
Ally then will occupy two buildings at Flagler Center, which is in South Jacksonville south of Old St. Augustine Road between Interstate 95 and Philips Highway.
Ally will move the workers from about 68,150 square feet in the Flagler Center 300 building at 7159 Corklan Drive.
They will move into part of the four-story Lakeside III building at 12808 Gran Bay Parkway W.
That brings them next door to the Ally-leased five-story Lakeside IV at 12850 Gran Bay Parkway W. with almost 123,300 square feet of space. That’s where 628 employees work.
After the move, Ally will occupy almost 236,000 square feet of space among two buildings.
Ally is the rebranded GMAC, a name change that took place about a decade ago.
Puchalsky said the Corklan space will be transferred to the landlord.
