Lake City-based Ellianos Coffee is on its way to open at least nine drive-thru shops in the Jacksonville area.
It announced a two-unit deal in Nassau County in Yulee and Amelia Island with current franchisees Spencer and Kacie Hutchison, who own and operate two stores in Georgia with another planned.
It signed a one-store agreement with franchisee Lewis Sharp for University Boulevard south of the HCA Florida Memorial Hospital.
“This will be just one of nine Ellianos locations in the works for Jacksonville as the brand continues to dominate the area’s drive-thru coffee scene,” the company said in a news release May 13 for the University Boulevard location.
It indicates there are “even more to come.”
Ellianos says it currently operates at 1125 Lane Ave. in West Jacksonville and at 301 Blanding Blvd in Orange Park.
In addition to those five, another seven sites have been identified.
The city issued a permit for a 700-square-foot Ellianos Coffee at 619 Chaffee Road S. in West Jacksonville at a construction cost of $270,000.
The Ellianos.com website says Ellianos Coffee shops are coming soon to Durbin Creek Crossing in St. Johns County, to Fernandina Beach in Nassau County, and in Jacksonville to 3770 Blanding Blvd. in the Cedar Hills area and 8781 Old Kings Road S. in the Brierwood area.
There are plans in review for Florida 207 and Hilltop Road in St. Augustine and for 2578 Country Road 220 in Middleburg.
Ellianos offers specialty espresso drinks, smoothies, latte freezers and more, as well as food items such as breakfast grit bowls, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, cookies, brownies and chicken salad croissants.
