Mayor John Peyton, JTA Executive Director Mike Blaylock and several other City officials welcomed the 148 high school kids the City has hired for various summer jobs to an information session at the Main Library Monday morning. Peyton (above middle) said the program is a good way for the kids to make a little money, find out what they enjoy doing and, perhaps, also find out what they don’t want to do for employment. Two of the students on hand were Jabril Williams of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (left) and Talya Thompson of Raines High. Both will be working at the Main Library this summer and they start today.
