• The Tower Cafe in the lobby at the Bank of America Tower is closed. For breakfast customers, the Skyline Cafe on the tower’s 42nd floor is now open from 7-10 a.m. in addition to lunch. The menu includes bagels, pastries and fresh fruit as well as bacon and eggs and other hot choices.

• Victoria Partners LLC, a joint venture between The Suddath Companies and Landology, purchased Victoria National Golf Club in southern Indiana. Designed by Tom Fazio, the facility is currently ranked No. 24 in Golf Digest’s “America’s Greatest 100 Golf Courses.”

• City Kidz Ice Cream & Cafe and City Kidz University partnered with the Florida State College at Jacksonville Open Campus Virtual College Department. They worked with students from the “Seeds of Change” program to create a social media campaign.

• Speaking of City Kidz, in Springfield, it reports that it will be open today and tomorrow but will be closed Sunday and Monday for Labor Day. It reopens Tuesday.

• JTA is making changes to the Riverside Trolley. The merger of the WS1 route and the Riverside Trolley will mean expanded hours for the Trolley, which also serves Downtown. Starting Tuesday, the trolley will continue to run every 12 minutes during the lunch rush (11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and will run every 35 minutes from 5 a.m.-7:30 p.m. The route already includes the Landing but will expand to include the FSCJ Kent campus, St. Vincent’s Medical Center and the Shoppes of Avondale. The trolley will also run every 70 minutes on Saturdays to include the Riverside Arts Market. The fare will rise to $1 from 50 cents.

• Timothy Kenney, a math teacher at Mandarin Oaks Elementary, is a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the highest recognition that a K-12 math or science teacher can receive for outstanding teaching. Kenney also was a finalist in 2008. The state recipient will receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation and a trip for two to Washington, D.C., for a weeklong series of events. Zachary Champagne, also a teacher at Mandarin Oaks and Duval County’s 2010 Teacher of the Year, won the award in 2006.
