Established in 1982 by the state Supreme Court, board certification demonstrates a lawyer’s commitment to and experience in a specialty field of law.

The Florida Bar states that board certified lawyers have dedicated themselves to a level of excellence through character, professionalism, ethics and credibility in the practice of law.

More than 5,000 attorneys licensed in Florida, about 5% of The Florida Bar members, are board certified in one or more practice areas.
